In May 2022, Superyacht Australia, in partnership with superyachts.com, released an exciting new series of destination episodes under the ‘Australia InDepth’ banner. This series of informative short documentary films on the vast and incredible destinations superyachts can visit when cruising in Australian waters is complemented by the world-class service capabilities available to support visiting vessels.

Australia InDepth was produced and released as two different series. The first – ‘An Infinite Charter Destination’, showcases the diverse cruising grounds of a vibrant charter frontier. Milestone new legislation has unlocked one of the world’s most infinite cruising destinations.

Australia is a country teeming with unique experiences, many of which can only be accessed from the water. This first documentary series takes viewers on a journey through the stunning locations of the Kimberley, the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney, Melbourne, and Tasmania onboard luxury superyachts as they explore these destinations.

It’s no surprise yachting is a passion and a way of life in Australia, with a coastline of 34,000 km. This passion is also reflected in the outstanding service provided to superyachts when visiting Australia.

With so much to see and do, local experts and superyacht specialists can create exciting itineraries tailored to guests’ interests. Accompanied by the insights of first-class charter brokers, superyacht agents and marinas in Australia, the documentary series presents the infinite possibilities for superyachts to explore.

The second series – ‘The Superyacht Hub’ – looks at a different side of the Australian superyacht industry – the world class shipyard and marina infrastructure. Australia is home to some of the industry’s most celebrated refit and maintenance facilities. Meeting the service requirements of large international superyachts allows these yachts to stay longer and enjoy the stunning cruising grounds of Australia and the South Pacific.

Australia is not only home to outstanding marinas and shipyards but has some of the most experienced world-class tradespeople. Carpenters, electricians, boat builders and welders are just some of the skilled tradespeople on the front line, building the next generation of naval vessels and luxury super yachts.

With a look toward a promising future for Australia, the documentary covers significant developments at both marinas and shipyards as the country prepares to welcome some of the largest superyachts in the world.

There has never been a more exciting time to explore Australia by superyacht. With the input of industry leaders, the documentary presents all the essentials for those eager to discover a new superyacht frontier.

Both series include interviews with some of Australia’s superyacht industry key spokespeople, including Ian Malouf, Managing Director and Founder of Ahoy Club; Joachim Howard, Managing Director of Ocean Alliance; Philippa Harrison, Managing Director of Tourism Australia and David Good, CEO of Superyacht Australia.
